ABOUT TRACK / ARTIST
Kardo are from the beautiful town of Barrhead in the Levern Valley on the south side of Glasgow, also home to 'the Ninth Wave' and not too far from where 'Simple Minds' & 'Stealers wheel' began.
16 year old James and Sam friends from the same street enjoyed playing acoustic covers and became local stars after performing sets anywhere they could
Ollie joined on bass and they began attempting to sculpt and record their own music. Drummer Courtney Campbell from Kilsyth north of Glasgow auditioned after Kardo posted numerous web ads and joined in 2019 to complete the line up. The self produced debut album “Things Will Never Be The Same” caught the ears of Jim Gellatly naming Kardo’s “Stuck in the 90’s” as his track of the day on the final day of 2018. After numerous packed events across Glasgow they took to the stage to headline the world famous King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in October 2019 bringing in a packed audience and doing what they do best, earning them a slot in King Tut’s New Year’s Revolution showcase 2020. Kardo are prolific writers and recorders of music and plan to release much material in the coming year. Recently their debut single 'White Widow' was included in the Scottish national football teams spotify playlist and subsequently played prior to a matches at Hampden park. All songs so far have been recorded in band member Sam's Dad's studio / converted garage.
James Wiseman - Vocals, Guitar
Sam Carlton - Guitar / synths / vocals
Ollie Carswell - Bass / Vocals
Courtney Campbell - Drums / percussion
Best of luck in space was written by Sam when he was 17. In the 4 years since then many different versions of it have been recorded but lock down gave Kardo and producer Scott Carlton time to give the track attention.
James sings of leaving earth and the boredom of space travel, but the true message of the song is that we all miss a person, place and time and have a subconscious desire to revisit that same person, place or time.
