Multiple Snare Drums
To create a broad range of drum tones and textures, the loops were recorded using multiple different snare drums, each bringing its own character, attack and resonance to the performance. Combined with different playing styles and grooves, this allowed us to capture a diverse collection of live, energetic drum loops built specifically for Drum & Bass production. From tight, punchy snares to bigger, more aggressive sounds, the pack gives producers plenty of variety for building powerful, natural-sounding DNB drums.
5 Different Drum Kits
In total across the 5 kits we recorded 20 snares, 5 kick drums and over 20 different cymbals. Why did we record so many drum kits? Because each kit has it’s own unique tone and texture. Recording each kit in different ways allowed us to create a pack that was unique and versatile throughout.
We used expensive snares and cheap snares, snare of all ranges. This gave us a sound that could be made gritty and edgy or clean and expensive. Each snare was selected for it’s unique tone and ability to work well with certain drum kits.
