Excellent mastering services. I’ve used many other studio’s over the years being 42 and all that but this is by far the best mastering service I have used in the last 20 years. I mean come on £25 for what I can see at least a £30,000 mastering chain. Most studios don’t have half the high end gear these guys have. Well done Audio Animals will be using you ever master I have done for my band WORLD CLASS service. Danny Boi
Just received my master back from The Audio Animals and along with the 3 other masters i have had done by them its sounds excellent it just sounds so much more fuller and dynamic and professional and cuts right though in the mix. Anyone looking for mixing or mastering services should look no further you just cant beat the swift professional polite service these guys offer not to mention the absolute incredible value for money for a service that would cost a lot lot more anywhere else and you will just not get the same quality because of the thousands of pounds worth of hardware signal chain that your track will get mastered through. This is my 4th master i have had done by The Audio Animals and i am looking forward to getting all the rest of my future premasters over thanks to all at THE AUDIO ANIMALS.
Nothing To Lose
I listened to a few of their before-and-after master demos on Soundcloud. These were good but it’s not they’ve mastered a track you know inside and out that you realise the extent of the magic they can weave into your track. Bigger, fuller, louder and warmer are descriptions that go some way toward explaining how your track will sound after it’s been through the top of the range hardware in the Audio Animals Sound Cave but for £25, I’d recommend trying them out for yourselves. I guarantee, you’ll never play an unmastered track in a set again.
Can’t recommend Audio Animals enough!! Friendly, helpful and top quality service all round! Will definitely be coming back! :-)
Q. What is the difference between standard and priority mastering?
A. Both standard and priority mastering use the exact same mastering gear and chain. The only difference is turn around time. Standard mastering is turned around in 4-7 days where as priority mastering is turned around in anything from 2 hours -2 days. If you are ordering standard or priority mastering and require your track back by a certain day and time please let us know your deadline when sending your file here. We will always make sure your track is back by your required deadline.
Q. Why do I not just use ozone?
A. Ozone will get your track quite loud but it will not give your track the clarity and overall fullness it deserves. Mastering is not just about audio processing. Expertise and knowledge play a huge part in knowing how to master a track. Ozone is a digital alternative to low quality mastering where as what we offer is high quality analogue mastering using the worlds best audio equipment and accurate monitoring.
Q. Will my track be loud?
A. Yes your track will be loud but unlike most digital masters will keep it’s dynamic range. Knowing how to make your track loud without compromising dynamics comes with years of experience and high quality analogue audio equipment.
Q. How long does standard mastering take?
A. 4-7 days.
Q. How long does premium mastering take?
A. 2 hours -2 days.
Q. What is a Maselec MLA-3 and why does it cost £3400?
A. The Maselec MLA-3 is widely known as the best multiband mastering compressor in the industry. The precision of this mastering compressor makes it perfect for all genres of music.
Q. How do Audio Animals get such good results?
A. This is partly down to experience and also the high end equipment we use. We use legendary audio equipment such as Shadow Hills and Maselec compressors as well as Neve, Maag, SSL, Elysia, Bettermaker, Dangerous Music and Little labs eq’s.

Our turn around time is generally around 4-7 days for standard analogue mastering and 2 hours -2 days for our priority mastering service. For best results, send us your full track, in .wav format 44,100kHz 24bit with -3db of headroom, with no compression, maximiser, stereo widener etc on the master bus. As long as you leave plenty of headroom we will be able to get you an incredible sounding master back. If you send a track that is maximised and compressed the results will not be as good, as there is less room to work with. If you do send us a limited track we will contact you to request an unlimited track. If all you have is a limited track it is possible for us to work with but please be aware that the results will not be as good. Please leave all the master bus compression and limiting down to us. To place your order please purchase your mastering here and one of our engineers will be in touch personally.
What Is Mastering?
Often known as the dark art in musical circles, mastering is the last step of the audio production process, the stage between the final mixdown and the distribution of your music, be it as an mp3, cd or vinyl. What the mastering engineer does for you, can vary greatly depending on what your track needs. Using a combination of their high end specialist audio equipment, a properly acoustically treated room and most importantly their experienced ear, a mastering engineer will polish your music and give you that professional edge in a highly contested market.
Does My Music Need Mastering?
Simply, the answer would be yes. Although a good mixdown will go a long way, a properly mastered track will add that final touch to make it stand up against commercial music and be playable on a wide variety of sound systems. With the increase of home studios over the last decade, music production is now available to the masses, however, most will not have access to the equipment that will give you the competitive edge. It is also important to have someone master your track with fresh ears, who will take an objective view, as it is natural for a person to listen to a track with an obscured outlook after listening to it looped for hours on end while producing / mixing.
